Yajooj and Majooj are two huge tribes from the descendants of Noah a.s. They are very similar to humans, being from the progeny of the first man. It is narrated that during the period of Zul-Qarnayn, they caused a great deal of mischief and trouble on the earth. For this reason, a gigantic wall was built to prevent Gog and Magog from reaching nearby tribes and wreaking havoc. Hazrat Zulqarnain (AS) traveled across the world during his reign of the entire world. One day he was traveling north when he came across that mountain. The residents of the area pleaded with him to help them get rid of Yajooj Majooj. King Zulqarnain helped them by sealing the rift in the mountain with the help of iron and molten copper. Al-Nawaas ibn Sam’aan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), wile describing the signs of the Day of judgement said: “… and Allah will send Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj, swiftly swarming from every mound. They will pass the lake of Tiberias [in Palestine] and will drink everything that is in it. Then the last of them will pass by and will say, ‘There used to be water here once.’ The Prophet of Allah, Eesaa (Jesus), and his companions, will be besieged until a bull’s head will be more precious to one of them than a hundred dinars are to any of you today. Eesaa (Jesus) and his companions will pray to Allah, and Allah will send a kind of worm (like that found in the noses of camels and sheep) on their (Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj) necks, and they will fall down dead, all at once. Allah has created various creations and one among them is Yajooj and Majooj also known as Gog and Magog. Here we have explained who are Yajooj and Majooj and what could be the possible location of the Gog Magog steel wall in the world. Yajooj and Majooj are the names of two tribes that were vicious, wild, and inhumane by nature. These tribes created destruction and great misery for the inhabitants of an area. They acted like animals, destroyed their crops, killed their people, and created havoc in the area. It was the time when King Zulqurnain, a Muslim King was ruling a major part of the world. One day when he was traveling the world he came across a mountain where people pleaded with him for help. They insisted to help them get rid of the wicked Yajooj and Majooj. King Zulqurnain agreed to help the Turks and decided to seal the rift of the mountain with pieces of iron. In this way, the barbaric tribe was imprisoned there. How King Zulqurnain sealed the walls and imprisoned Yajooj and Majooj? It is narrated in Surah Kahf: “Give me blocks of iron;” When he had filled up the gap between the two mountains, he said; “Blow”. When he made them red as fire, he said; “Bring me molten copper to pour over them Gog and Magog people dig every day until when they can almost see the rays of the sun, the one in charge of them says: “Go back and we will dig it tomorrow.” Then Allah puts it back, stronger than it was before. (This will continue) until, when their time has come, and Allah wants to send them against the people. – Sunan Ibn Majah 4080 It is narrated that the Yajooj and Majooj will break the wall and come out during the Period of Prophet Esa عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ – Al-Kahf 18:98 Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Allah has made an opening in the wall of the Yajooj Majooj (people) like this, and he made with his hand (with the help of his fingers). Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “the last hour will not come or happen until the coming forth of Yajooj Majooj After breaking the wall, Yajooj Majood will be swarming down from every hill Gog Magog will not pass by any water but they will drink it. They will not pass by anything but they will spoil it. The earth will be filled with their stench and (the people) will beseech Allah. It is mentioned in a hadith that Yajuj Majuj will kill everyone on the earth except a few people. Gog Magog will travel until they reach a mountain at Bait Al-Maqdis. They will say: “We have killed whoever was on the earth. Come! Let us kill whoever is in the skies.” They will shoot their arrows into the Heavens, so Allah will return their arrows to them red with blood At this time Prophet Esa عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ with his followers will pray to Allah. Then the sky will send down rain that will carry them and throw them into the sea. Then the mountains will turn to dust and the earth will be stretched out like a hide. Gog and Magog are confined in a wall and therefore, there are many kinds of research conducted on their possible locations. We have summarized 8 possible locations where the Yajooj Majooj wall could be situated in the world. Although it is difficult to draw Yajuj Majuj's picture out of the available information; however, it is said that Yajooj Majooj has red hair and small eyes Scholars and historians are still doing research and studies on the Yajuj Majuj wall location.
