Модуль может активно взаимодействовать с устройствами как локальной сети, так и в интернете. Благодаря этому, плату можно использовать для создания интернет сигнализации или игрушек с управлением через смартфон. Можно снимать показания с каких нибудь датчиков, и отправлять результаты на удаленный сервер, или же наоборот, получать информацию с сервера и как-то ее использовать, например, получить текущий курс валют или погоду с интернета и показать эту информацию на дисплее. Контроллер и сам может выступать в роли веб сервера и обрабатывать запросы подключенных клиентов. Для подключения NodeMCU к компьютеру требуется установить драйвер конвертера UART - USB. Для программирования контроллера существует несколько программ. Я использовал Arduino IDE, так как уже работал с Arduino ранее. It's really quite simple. First, go up to Arduino IDE Preferences. If you're on a PC, that's gonna be under File Preferences. Once you go to Preferences, this window shows up and down at the bottom, there's a place where it says Additional Board Manager URLs. Now I already have a URL in here, but all I have to do is add a comma. And then I'm going to paste in this URL right here, which be in the description. So you just paste that in there. Again, if there's already another URL in there, maybe for an ESP32, you just add a comma and paste it. If there's nothing else in there, just paste in that URL by itself and then click OK. Once you've done that, now what you can do is come over to this side menu where it says Boards Manager. It looks like a little Arduino board. And search for esp8266. And you'll see esp8266 by ESP8266 Community. Click Install. Once it's successfully installed, it says Installed up in the corner. And now when you go up to Tools, Board, you'll see that there's a folder for ESP8266 with a bunch of different model names in here. So I've got the Adafruit Feather HUZZAH ESP8266 hooked up, so I'll just select that. And then I can select the port. I happen to know it's this one. Neste vídeo eu mostro como configurar o NodeMCU ESP8266 para ser programado utilizando o Arduino IDE. Este Tutorial mostra o passo a passo para configurar, identificar e programar esta placa poderosa. Um dos exemplos que utilizo é um comando para acender um LED via WiFi, o NodeMCU se conecta ao seu WiFi e cria um servidor web, é possível acessar este servidor por qualquer Web Browser e fazer o comando de acender e apagar o LED com um simples botão. Legal né? Isso abre diversas oportunidades para a automacão residencial e de outros tipos de projetos com a "Internet das Coisas" o famoso IoT. O comando porderia acionar um relé por exemplo, poderia ser um envio de texto para mostrar num painel de LEDs, uma Leitura de sensores da casa, as possibilidades são infinitas. The Async Elegant OTA library creates a web server that allows you to update new firmware (a new sketch) to your board without the need to make a serial connection between the ESP32/ESP8266 and your computer.
